I used to dress terribly.

Hiring a personal stylist, then graduating to ChatGPT as my pocket fashion advisor. Plus the Vision Pro moment that finally clicked, and the perfect pair of jeans.

Hey everyone,

If you're new here, welcome to Never Enough, where I brain dump interesting stuff that has been on my mind over the last week.

I used to dress terribly. When I had kids, I basically gave up on looking good and took "athleisure" a little too seriously. I wore a uniform of a Patagonia jacket, black t-shirt, and black jeans. I didn't look terrible, but I didn't look particularly good either. I never put any effort into my appearance and as a result I noticed my self-esteem started to slip.

A couple years ago, I did something that sounds ridiculously expensive, but isn't. I hired a personal stylist. Basically, I sent her a bunch of photos of me, then each quarter she'd send me a whole bunch of outfits and tell me how and when to wear them. For a couple hundred bucks, it really leveled up my style.

Over time, I graduated to the point where I felt confident choosing my own outfits and started buying my own clothes again. But I noticed something.

I'd get into clothing ruts. I'd end up wearing the same sorts of outfits, or sometimes I'd get stuck. What kind of shirt goes with khakis again?

The other day, I tried something. I uploaded a photo of the outfit I was wearing to ChatGPT and asked: "Help me make this outfit better."

It filled the screen with ideas.

"Try wearing it with a pair of brown desert boots, a stainless steel watch, and a pair of black sunglasses, with your hair a bit more casual."

Suddenly, my outfit was upgraded. My girlfriend even noticed.

For the last week, I've been doing this every day. I'll throw on a pair of pants or something and start asking for suggestions to go with specific outfits, or feedback on color combos—something I've always struggled with.

Who knew we all had a personal stylist in our pockets? So cool!

My Vision Pro has been collecting dust on my kitchen island for the last few months. I'll admit, I wasn't a fan when I first got one. To be honest, I'm still not. Until recently, the only use case I could see using it for was watching movies on planes.

That is, until I tried Spacial FaceTime...

For years, I've been searching for the perfect pair of mens jeans. I'm happy to announce I've found my perfect match.

Most jeans are either groin-crushing, too stiff, too hot, or shrink unpredictably. After trying way, way too many (Japanese denim you have to hand wash, designer brands, Levis, custom made), I've settled on Duer jeans. They look like normal jeans, but they feel like sweatpants. Insanely comfortable, stretchy, and cozy, without looking like a schmoe. Thanks to my friend Ben Moore for the recommendation.

If you're an investor in a lot of businesses, funds, and asset classes, keeping track of it all is a pain in the butt. In the past, my team has used Excel and it's been a nightmare. They'd spend hours each month manually updating values and it was a pain to keep up.

We recently switched to Kubera. Yes, there's a bunch of ridiculously expensive solutions out there like Addepar. But want to know a secret? Addepar costs $100,000 a year. Kubera basically does the same thing and costs about $12/mo. It's kind of insane.

TLDR: It's a dashboard that shows you the current value (day-to-day) of all of your assets, presenting you with a breakdown of your current net worth, your investable cash position, and your assets broken down by class. It's really great and has saved us a ton of time and money

Ketosis is when your body switches from running on glucose (blood sugar) to ketones (fat). But to get there, takes days. You basically have to either starve yourself (prolonged fasting) or eat a ridiculously high fat (keto) diet, but people say it feels incredible. Many report feeling cognitively sharper and more focused, with lower anxiety and more consistent energy.

I've tried Keto diets and fasting in the past, and I've loved the feeling, but I find it difficult to do regularly. So, for the past few years I've been experimenting with taking what are called exogenous ketones. Essentially, they are "ketone bodies"—the things your body produces when it's burning fat in ketosis—except you're taking them orally. They immediately put you into a state of ketosis for 2-4 hours.

I've been really enjoying Delta-G Tactical Ketones. I take them maybe once a week, but they are a great way to quickly get into the zone. (Note: they are 170 calories, so consume wisely and you want to avoid eating before/after taking them for a few hours.)
